And I've officially found the first show I HAVE to see when I go back to NYC. Screw the Spiderman musical (although it'd be pretty hilarious to see him get stuck) I'm all about the true crime stories. And these songs? Stuck in my head just from this clip. It looks fantastic.

Alright so, I start my new job Monday. I know I forgot to tell you guys, but I got a new job. XD I'm going to miss working at the hospital, specifically the internet access and ability to watch movies (thank you portable dvd player!) but I ~desperately~ need benefits, since I have none here.

My new job is with Newell Rubbermaid (they own Sharpie, Graco and a bunch of other companies). Monday through Friday 8:30-5 (that's going to take some getting used to. I'm NOT a morning person), no weekends or holidays (I work both right now) and the pay is SO much better, plus I have full medical, dental, and there's a voluntary vision program....I'd have been a moron to turn it down.

I'm SO terrified, though. The hospital is only the second job I've ever had, and it was easy to be a slacker here. XD I'm going to have to actually WORK now.

You know what I'm REALLY excited for though?

1) I get to wear jeans to work every day. Jeans! How sweet is that?
2) There'll be windows! I can see daylight! And people! (The answering service and the hospital, I work alone, in the basement)
3) I'll be off at 5! For the first time ever I'll actually be able to see all my favorite shows (Modern Family, Glee, and The Vampire Diaries) when they air! I won't ~have~ to watch them online!!

Speaking of, does anybody else watch The Vampire Diaries? Because last night's was pretty epic! I've got a little girl-crush on Caroline. She was my favorite last you too, but she's just SO fierce this season!

How boring is my life that I basically spent all weekend at the movie theater? Or that I actually had more fun doing that than I ever do going out? Not that I don't have fun going out with my friends but....I'm perfectly happy sitting back in a dark theater and letting myself get lost in whatever's playing out onscreen. I always have been, though.

Saturday my friend Emily and I went to see Easy A. I'd already seen it, but she hadn't, so I told her I'd go with her. There've been too many comedies lately where the only funny parts are what's shown in the trailer. Luckily, that's not the case with this one. Although it reminds me a LOT of Mean Girls. But Emma Stone is amazing, and hilarious, and for the first time ever, I actually LIKED Penn Badgely. It was almost enough to make me wish I still watched Gossip Girl. Almost.

Then Saturday night I went with my mom and her boyfriend to see The Town. Again. Ever since I saw the first preview before Inception, I've been DYING to see that movie, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I think it would have been even better if Ben had cast someone else in his role, but I also think he's got a great career ahead of him as a director. And the rest of the cast was PHENOMENAL. Especially Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner. Even Blake Lively was absolutely perfect as Jem (Jeremy Renner)'s cracked out sister.

Then yesterday Emily (again) and I went to see Devil. Now, I know how most people see M. Night Shyamalan, but I feel no shame in admitting that (with the exception of Unbreakable) I actually really love his movies. Yes, I know that The Village, Lady in the Water, and The Happening weren't GOOD, but I still liked them. So I was actually looking forward to this one, even if I wasn't expecting much. So I was surprised to see that it was actually really good. It gets a little preachy in parts (but so did Signs, and people still love that one!), but it's a really good, really tense little movie. And I love any film that can freak me out without tossing nudity and/or buckets of gore in there. Why do directors think that's the only way to make their movies scary?

Devil, literally, had me on the edge of my seat for the last 20 minutes. And, alright, covering my eyes. What? I'm kind of a wuss apparently. Honestly though, I think it's a return to form for M Night, and his best movie since Signs. Again, I don't count Unbreakable in there. XD.

Also! Devil gave me a new crush!

Logan Marshall-Green

Somebody tell me he doesn't look like Tom Hardy, because I seriously think they could be brothers.

My dad and I were actually arguing about it the other day. XD He thinks they look nothing alike. Come on! I can't be the only one who sees it!

And now, more Logan Marshall-Green, just because he's yummy.

Follow the cut for the pretty!Collapse )

Alright so, most of you don't know, but my favorite thing to do when I'm bored and have internet access (on a computer, phone, ipod, I really don't care) is go to youtube and watch random fan-made music videos. What? It passes the time. So, because I'm at work with a computer, and ~insanely~ bored, here are my favorites. I'll even break them up into fandom, because I'm just that much of a nerd. XD

Ok so, most of  you know that my dad completely abandoned me over my birthday last year to go to Dragon Con (he was working it, but STILL) even though he knew I was dying to go. I was determined not to let that happen this year, so it ended up being my bday present. It's going to be really sad next year when it ISN'T over my birthday. XD

Honestly, I had this big long intro typed up, and then LJ decided to be a complete bitch and delete it, and I'm just way too lazy to do it again so....

Alright so I know I'm late to the game (by what? like six years? whatever!) but everytime I see one of the Scott Pilgrim trailers I spazz just a little. I mean, come on! Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin (♥♥♥), Chris Evans,  Anna Kendrick, AND Jason Schwartzman?  AMAZING!!

So on Sunday I bought the first two graphic novels in the series, and I had them both finished by last night. And now I have 3-6 on hold at Barnes and Noble, and I'm waiting completely impatiently until tomorrow when I'll have time to go and get them. They're AWESOME, and I need to know what happens before the movie comes out! Not that it matters, I won't be able to see it until sometime next week anyway. *sob* Why do none of my friends think this movie looks good? It looks HILARIOUS!

Ok now, for anyone on my flist who's read the series, who's your favorite character? Because there's really only one correct answer here.

"Guess who's druuuuuuuuuunk!"Collapse )

Alright, so I've got my image sizing problems fixed now, which is good, because there's a lot more to this one. Some of you already know, but every year since my senior year of high school (almost 5 years ago, now) I've gone to NYC every spring for a few days to see as many shows as I possibly can. Usually I got with pinkbutterflies, but she couldn't make it this time so I ended up going with my aunt. It was fun, but she's not quite as into the sightseeing as I am, so we really just walked around the design (where our hotel was) and theater districts, ate at some really awesome restaurants (it's expensive as hell, but I highly recommend Bond 45) and saw shows. Which is fine by me. After five years, I think we've done pretty much all the really touristey stuff anyways.

So behind the cut are my pictures from our 2010 trip. Mostly stagedoor stuff, but we got to meet some really cool.

Dial up users, beware! They're normal sized, but theres a LOT of them!Collapse )

Ok so, we all know that a few months ago the cast of Glee went on a far too short tour. They came through Chicago of course, which is only like two hours away from me, and my friend and I tried and tried and tried (seriously. I called for three straight hours) to get tickets, but they sold out in like ten minutes or something. So a few days before they got to Chicago, my friend and I decided to give stagedooring a try. I mean really, what did we have to lose besides time, right?

We took a shot and it was SO worth it. The entire cast came out and signed. While we didn't get to meet EVERYONE, the ones we did were absolutely amazing. This is quite possibly the most talented, gorgeous, sweetest cast ever. That had to be said, sorry. Anyway, pictures are behind the cut for anyone who wants to see them! The order got a little jumbled when I uploaded them, but they're all still there. Just a warning, the pictures are HUGE!!!! I was in a hurry and didn't get around to resizing. Sorry!

MASSIVE pictures behind the cut........Collapse )

So yes, I actually caved and bought myself a paid account. I couldn't help myself! I blame the Modern Family icons! I just kept hitting save until a paid account finally became necessary.
